Question
The last time I gambled was Aug. 20th. It was a last ditch attempt to re-coup losses from a week earlier, didn't work. I went on line and found this site. I read and posted and it really helped! On Aug. 26th I self banned from 3 casinos, felt numb, then good. Yesterday out of the blue, I got mad, mad at everything. Reading some of the posts made me mad. I dreamed of gambling and winning and can't sleep anymore tonight. I want to gamble, but I know I can't. Is this some type of withdrawl? I'm really confused here. I DON'T WANT TO GAMBLE ANYMORE. Is my brain trying to trick me? ANY help would be appreciated.

Re: Question
Hi Cindy,

These feelings are oh so common and natural. Yes it is withdrawal. As I have said before, stopping gambling is like looseing a loved-one. Part of your life is taken away, the yerning needs to be replaced with something else (Perhaps a hobby). If not the brain will fester and drive you to gamble again. Train your brain to constantly remind you of the bad days after losses. Replace them with pride you will get after resisting the last temptation. As time goes by things will improve, you will sleep well in the knowlage that you have not gambled.

Stay with it, keep posting your successes. You CAN DO IT. We are all with you. Remember THE ONLY WINNING BET IS THE ONE YOU DID NOT MAKE.

Best regards,
MICK. (G.H.)
