Re: IM GOING TO TRY AGAIN
Hi Donna,

Welcome to our site, we are here for YOU. Yes your life seams to be in a mess. But as you well know, gambling wont help it get better.

At the moment gambling is your "Hide-a-way", a safe haven, away from all your troubles. Now is the time to substitute gambling for somthing else. Somthing that you would enjoy and as far way from where you gamble as possible. Maybe a hobby or activity. Maybe somthing that will keep you fit as well, walking, running, even mountaineering (LOL). Your friend Karen could join you.

The whole point I am makeing is to leave gambling and put somthing you enjoy in its place. IT WONT BE EASY, but with determinationand the support of others (including our forum) you can succeed. In time life will become better and you will be able to face your problems and not hide from them.

I wish you well, share your feelings on this forum, you will get good support you will soon realise you are not the only one who feels as you do. Take the advice you are comfortable with and ditch the rest.

Hope to read your posts soon,
Regards,
MICK (G.H.)
Re: IM GOING TO TRY AGAIN
Welcome Donna and well done for sharing.

I tried to stop gambling so many times on my own and the only way I was able to do it was with support of people who understood me (other gamblers). There are many organisations around (this site, gamblers anonymous) you just need to push yourself to get the help.

The most important thing is admitting you have a problem (which you have) and have the desire to stop (tougher than it sounds)

There is no magic cure to stopping gambling, just hard work and patience. Please be patient with yourself and remember there is always help if you want it.

Good luck
