Our Services
Gambling Therapy was launched by the Gordon House Association (now The Gordon Moody Association) on November 5th 2004. The forum and support groups followed in June 2005. Gambling Therapy currently support several thousand members. Our services include online advice and practical and emotional support for individuals through our helpline facility. Online support groups, a forum, and a database of useful resources are also available. For more information on any of these services please see below. All of these services are available to anyone with a gambling problem or those affected by gambling through someone close to them.
The helpline is often first contact as it is a one to one easy way to access help.
You can connect to an advisor using any name you choose; it doesn’t have to be your real name. All you need to do then is start typing and an advisor will respond with useful support, advice and understanding.
The advisor will be able to signpost you towards various options of help and support that are available to you as we have access to a large database of external resources alongside other methods of support offered by the Gambling Therapy website. The advisor will also be able to give you practical advice with regards to steps that you can take to help you to succeed in your recovery. It is all strictly confidential however; some sessions may be moderated for training purposes.

There are support groups running at various times of the day over a seven day period. When registering on the website you don't have to use your real name if you prefer not to. Once in the group you can have live typed chat with others who are problem gamblers or someone affected by gambling. The group is facilitated by a member of the Gambling Therapy Team.

There are five types of groups:

· Family and Friends - this group is for anyone affected by gambling through someone close to them
· Topics – this is a structured group with a pre-disclosed theme related to gambling and recovery.
· Un moderated Weekend & Evening Chat available to all members
The groups are an excellent way to give and receive support and a safe place to offload any issues you may have.
The forum is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. You will need to register to join the forum (you can use whatever name you wish; it doesn't have to be your real name). You can post your own story and reply to others. Writing can be very therapeutic and is excellent reference to look back on. The forum is global and due to the time differences there is usually someone around that will reply to you.
