Hi all were do i Start.
I am 35, and have always been in a job, but cant remeber 1 week were i have not gamled any of my money i have earned.
It all started when i was just 13 years old, yes 22 years ago, i was on the pier and i saw a little girl fall off the pier into the sea,she was stuggling,as i was a good swimmer i jumped in to save her, and got her our out safley, and was met with a cheer, and by a frantic mother, who give me £10, and could not thank me enough, £10 then was alot of money .
I could not wait to get to the shop with my £10,as I was a sweet lover, so i pedaled my bike as fast as i could to the petrol garage to buy some sweets. After buying my sweets, I was still left with loads of £1 notes, and felt rich, and sat on a bench smilling, eating my sweets, by the side of the garage,i noticed a place next to the garage with alot of noise and flashing lights,and could not help going in for a peek,inside i was met with a load of fruit machines flashing £1.00 jackpot,so i changed a pound note, with this over wieght, sweating looking fella, with greasy hair, that was sitting behind a counter clunking coins toghether, I had 10 10p coins, and started to play the fruit machine, I lost 30p but then on the next 10p music started to play and more flashing lights, flashing 1 to 10, up or down was flashing, i did not have a clue what was gong on,and a lad that was playing another machine came over and basicly took the machine over, saying I think you might have the jackpot,he pressed a few buttons, and tapped me on the back, saying you have the Jackpot, ching ching ching ching, out come the money,i could not belive my eyes,but if this was not exicting enough, more lights started flashing, after the £1 in 10ps had come out, and the lad said you have a hold, and came over and took the machine over again, winning me Another £1, and then Another £1, £3 in total, I give the lad 50p and thanked him, and left ,and rode off on my bike with my pockets full of 10ps, Now i had a load of sweets, plus £12 odd, I had my sweets for Free, and still had £2 odd more that i started with,now this is the life i thought, BUT I THOUGHT WRONG, this was the first day of my life that followed on for 22 years, of losings hundres of thousands of pounds,and wrecking my life.
Since this day i have been a consistant gambler, losing my wages nearly every week from my paper round,i just could not go anywere now without seing a fruit machine in a shop, cafes, newsagents, even our local fruit shop had a fruit machine, chips shop, they was every were i went , and from now all i done was lose lose lose.
Ive had loans to feed my habit
In 2001 I was left a £200,000 house plus £250,0000 in cash, which to date I have nothing left from Gambling, i went from fruit machines to Arcades to Casinos and now online gambling, and am in Debt over £30k from it all.
Last night as normal i waited up untill MIdnight, as I knew my pay was going in, and lost it all £300, in a matter of 2 hours,last week i borrowed £600 to pay off a Debt, and gambled it all ,now my family has give me the desision, gambling, or a life with them and my new born child.
Today is the start of a new beginging as i dont want to loose my family and want to for just once in 22 years see money spent on the ones i love, not the habbit i think i love.
