I’m sure you will be reading some of the other stories here so i expect you will have seen a lot you can relate to. You will also have seen some of the success stories – what are they doing that you can apply to your own situation?
It’s hard to explain an addiction to a non addict, after all even an addict might not be able to explain it themselves! Maybe show your partner this forum, she will see that you aren’t alone and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. She can also get support for herself in the Friends and family forum.
What barriers can you put in place? Where do you gamble? Get yourself banned. how do you finance gambling – make yourself accountable, could your partner help with that? Then keep posting, tell us the positive steps you are taking, tell us how you are filling your gamble free time.
