Hi, this is the first time I have searched for help… Even just being able to talk about it is a big help.
It all started when I was 17 in the local arcades winning £5 jackpots! I would then loose £40 and could of cried…
10years on and iv lost £1500 this weekend alone in the bookies. I can’t stop thinking about trying to win back my boss.
I have a mortgage a partner and a 16 month old daughter and the thought of ruining everything for them makes me upset. I earn good money but also work very hard and long hours for it.
I read about controlling urges on here which I hope will help.
Many Thanks

Hello and thanks for starting a thread in the Gambling Therapy forums
Here at Gambling Therapy we pride ourselves on being a caring and diverse online community who can help and support you with the difficulties youre currently facing. We understand that this might be a tough time for you, particularly if youre new to recovery, so come here as often as you need to and participate in the forums, access online groups and connect to the live advice helpline if you need one to one support. Were in this together!
Here on the forum you can share your experiences in a safe, supportive and accepting environment. The beauty of writing it all down is that you can take your time and you will be creating a record of your progress that you can look back on if it ever feels like youre not moving forward. So, share as much or as little as you like but do try to stick to keeping just one thread in this forum so people know where to find you if they want to be updated on your progress or share something with you.
And on that note….
Im going to hand you over to our community because Im sure they will have some words of wisdom for you 🙂
Take care
The Gambling Therapy Team
PS: Let me just remind you to take a look at our
privacy policy and terms and conditions so you know how it all works!

Like you I have a severe gambling problem. I have lost everything in my life including two marriages and my seven children. I need help in the same way that you do but believe me the very fact that you are talking about it will help because you have admitted that the problem exists and can start to do something about it. Listen to the many words of advice you will get on here because it does help. I have only recently joined myself but re visit every day to give myself some guidelines on a day to day basis. Good luck my friend I know exactly what you are going through.
