      Hi Habitat and welcome,
I think you know that answer to your own question or you would not be here…my advice would be to put a blocker on your pc, so that you will not be able to access gambling sites. Keep posting, im sure you will learn a lot more about this addiction.
Take care, bye for now, Kathryn x To live, that would be a great adventure – Peter Pan

Good morning Habitat, my name is Larry and I am a compulsive gambler, my last bet was August 13, 2009.
Yes being addicted to poker is a bad thing, a bad bad thing, even at the site you seem to be promoting instead of warning about. As for tips to avoid poker, start by looking at this site concerning online gambling. http://www.gamblingfactsandfictions.com/id21.htm .
Poker is a form of gambling where winning is solely determined by a turn of a card; there is no skill other than the ability to read other people required, something that can not be done on-line. Knowledge of percentages for hands under different situations only gives clues to when to bet or fold — but only in randomly dealt cards, not cards controlled by computer programmers, but no matter what the next card up tells the whole story. Casinos will not play a single hand of poker against any opponent like they do in other card games; the house favor can not be calculated or controlled and they are betting against the table not each player individually where a para-mutuel type action gives them the advantage over the pot. They will only provide the dealer and table taking in a rake from the pot, they will not risk one cent betting on the play.  They are the only true gambling professionals and know not to be involved; take a tip from their knowledge and actions.
To avoid poker, stop playing, and continue visiting here to find ways to help keep you from returning.
