I’m an old member at this website back to 2012 when I choke because of my gambling addiction, I let all my family down, throw away like 50k from the family saving account, my family did forgave me that once but I just keep gambling and gambling, then lying and lying to them that I invested money at stock market and lost, until today I lost a BIG AMOUNT fromy wife and dad’s savings, to be honest I can’t afford that money that quick, in fact, my wife already gave a chance before saying that if she found me gambling again she would leave me….. Also my dad, I already hurt him many times with this addiction, I don’t even know how to talk to him…. I feel like there’s a DEVIL inside of me, I wanna cry out loud but I can’t.

Hi xinstory and welcome back.

My own opinion – no, there isn’t a cure, I myself am a Compulsive gambler and always will be. I haven’t had a bet in a while now though and there is no reason that I need to have another bet in the future either. There is no reason you need to place another bet either.

You were here in 2012? I see you were posting back in 2013 as well. What advice were you given then? What things have you read on other threads that you can apply to your own situation?

You lost a lot of money? Then thaty’s one thing you can do straight away. speak to your wife and your dad and make sure you don’t have easy, unaccountable access to funds in the future. We all know that when we lose all our money we can’t gamble. use that knowledge and put some barriers in place between yourself and gambling funds.

Where have you been gambling? Get yourself banned from any “real life” gambling venues that you use, get a blocker for your PC if you gamble online.

What support can you use? If any of us could do it on our own then we wouldn’t have a problem in the first place. You were here in 2012? Then 2013? Well you are here now, this time stick around and keep using support. Why not try GA meeetigns as well?

How to tell your dad/wife? Well there is no reason for either of them to believe a word you say. Like my family they will have heard it all before. Show them by your actions that you mean it this time. Show them this site so that they too can get support in the Friends and Family forum.

Keep posting and let us know what positive actions you are taking.

I had been gambling on both online and casino, in fact, I own big money, today I just borrow another amount trying to come back and I just lose it, seriously I feel evil for myself

Ok deep breaths then xinstory. We know you are hurting, we all had that pain. Now which bits of the advice you have been getting can you put in place?

You were here in 2012 and would have had similar advice. You were here in 2013 and would have got similar advice. Now, no one can changer what happened in the past but you now have to decide what things you can put in now which will mean you will be posting here and gamble free in 2016/2017…. or returning and wishing you had acted sooner.

I hope you make the right choice and look forward to hearing about the positive steps you are taking.
