Funny as I was watching this tennis match that I knew I was going to end up losing I went looking for a notebook to write how many bets I had lost In a row and I couldn’t even find one. Like wtf who doesn’t have a notebook? My house is kind of messy so hopefully when I clean tomorrow I find a notebook. Theirs not many GA meetings in my area, I’ve found over the past few years my best support for this problem is that bloke on yt onlyphil. I’m in America btw, I really just wanted the notebook to write down somethings. So a quick google search brought me here, I think this is fking sick as I can log the beginning of my journey to others struggling. I lost my paycheck in 28 hours this time! Yikes Giron lost to Tommy Paul in straights that was my 20th straight lose. I hope in a year I still say that was my last bet. You know I don’t recall losing that many in a row with out a damn win in between like wtf that’s honestly impressive. I’m over 5 years sober from drugs and alcohol. I have worked in drug and alcohol treatment for over 3 years. Of course I would become a compulsive gambler! I feel like I’m rambling, I’m not sure if anyone will read this but I look to log daily. Tomorrow plans include some cleaning, gym and my home group in AA. Look I’m not some kind of BB thumper guys I go to one meeting a week but that should change when all this time opens up that I was gambling. Let me note I’m not planning on doing GA – why you ask? Theirs literally one GA meeting in my area and it’s 30 minutes away on a day I work. Interesting note theirs multiple AA meeting everyday near me. I wonder what the deal is with that. My debt is under 6,000 so really I could be debt free and watch my credit score go up in the process. I have lost tens of thousands of dollars. Ok so I’m going to ban myself from all of the books I can after I post this. I’ll cya tomorrow

Hi Notclutch and welcome to the forum. Welldone on looking for help.

If you read the other stories here you will see a lot that you will relate to, you will also read the success stories and see the sorts of thigns that have helped others stop. What are they doing that you can apply to your own situation?

There is a lot of support around these days and you are more than welcome here. I wouldn’t rule GA out completely though – if AA helps then a meeting for another addictin could help as well. 30 minutes away? How long did we spend gambling?

Did you ban from those bookies? Keep posting and let us know what other positive steps you are taking. Hopefully see you in one of the groups here as well.
