Hi guys. I’m a 40 year old male with two kids and a great family life. Years ago I used to gamble on the machines in casinos bookie’s etc. I’d blow loads of money trying to get back my losses. When all the money was gone I’d be depressive and really low and angry. Thankfully all them years ago I was able to nip it in the bud. Unfortunately recently I have started playing machines again, always slots, I’m not talking any great amount of cash £30/£40 quid mainly but what worries me is the fact when I start I find it hard to stop. I also started buying scratch cards and lottery numbers. Maybe there is a pattern emerging. As this like other addictions is a progressive illness I’m ready to stop before it gets out of hand. I’m a truck driver and the motorway services are full of these machines that you can even use your debit card on. I think this is crazy. I also spend allot of time on boats which are also full of these machines. I understand that by no means have I a serious problem but I do see a pattern. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
