Hi. I’m new here; I am hoping someone can help. I joined GamStop a couple of years ago and it works ok but I’m struggling to find an effective way of blocking non-U.K. sites. I’ve self-excluded from as many as I can but there are two in particular which just ignore my emails requesting exclusion. I’ve tried Gamban but have figured out it’s easy to remove it from my phone. I’ve been gambling online for about 15-20 years and have gone broke, lost houses and money (including a lot that didn’t belong to me) and I’ve managed to stop for a few weeks at a time; it’s crunch time and I’m really hoping someone here has an idea of how to reliably block myself. I have blocks on gambling transactions with the bank but that doesn’t always work. I’d really appreciate some advice. Thanks.

Hello and thanks for starting a thread
      in the Gambling Therapy forums
Here at Gambling Therapy we pride ourselves on being a caring and diverse online community who can help and support you with the difficulties you’re currently facing. We understand that this might be a tough time for you, particularly if you’re new to recovery, so come here as often as you need to and participate in the forums, access online groups and connect to the live advice helpline if you need one to one support. We’re in this together!
Here on the forum you can share your experiences in a safe, supportive and accepting environment. The beauty of writing it all down is that you can take your time and you will be creating a record of your progress that you can look back on if it ever feels like you’re not moving forward. So, share as much or as little as you like but do try to stick to keeping just one thread in this forum so people know where to find you if they want to be updated on your progress or share something with you.
As well as the forums New Members are invited to join Charles in the New Members Practical Advice Group On Mondays at 21:00 (UK) and Thursday at 19:00(UK)
      And on that note….
I’m going to hand you over to our community because I’m sure they will have some words of wisdom for you 🙂
      Take care

      Hi Ann,

What other barriers can you put in place? I know that in the UK there are many banks now which will stop you using accounts for gambling if you ask them I suggest you start a thread in the My Journal Forum. It is a busier forum and you can get a lot of support there. The most important thing is not to try and do this on your own. there is a lot of support these days – here and sites like this, places like gamblers Anonymous, counselling and even residential support. I look forward to reading your progress in the My Journal Forum and maybe seeing you in the groups here as well. There is also a 1 – 1 helpline.
