Its the first time that I am writing this post, its just that today i have had it. My dad took a loan from his sister of 70k for me to return my debts but i have blew it off on online gambling. Long story short i have been gambling since i am 18 years old and now im 31. Ive lost more than 2 million dollars cumulatively. I have stopped gambling for 5 years after i have lost a million dollars when i was 25 but it relapsed recently causing me to lose another million. Ive lost not only my entire savings but my girlfriend and my parents as well. I am so so lost, i really do feel like ending this miserable life. I have no control of my addiction, please someone anyone please save me.

Hello and thanks for starting a thread in the Gambling Therapy forums
Here at Gambling Therapy we pride ourselves on being a caring and diverse online community who can help and support you with the difficulties you’re currently facing. We understand that this might be a tough time for you, particularly if you’re new to recovery, so come here as often as you need to and participate in the forums, access online groups and connect to the live advice helpline if you need one to one support. We’re in this together!
Here on the forum you can share your experiences in a safe, supportive and accepting environment. The beauty of writing it all down is that you can take your time and you will be creating a record of your progress that you can look back on if it ever feels like you’re not moving forward. So, share as much or as little as you like but do try to stick to keeping just one thread in this forum so people know where to find you if they want to be updated on your progress or share something with you.
As well as the forums New Members are invited to join Charles in the New Members Practical Advice Group On Mondays at 21:00 (UK) and Thursday at 19:00(UK)
      And on that note….
I’m going to hand you over to our community because I’m sure they will have some words of wisdom for you 🙂
      Take care
      The Gambling Therapy Team

      Good morning Kaifu,
You are not alone…..look how many posts are on here…we all have an addiction that we are trying to overcome..you are a good person and you have a family that cares about you…that is huge!!!!! maybe talk to your family more…have them handle your finances…..maybe get some counseling!! you can overcome this!!!

As I say these things to you, I am talking to myself as well….I am at the beginning of my struggle to overcome gambling as well..

      Hi Kaifu1990,

Welcome to the forum and well done on reaching out for help, as wally2021 mentioned, know that you are not alone, everyone on the forum can likely associate with what you have written.

I would recommend giving the new members group a try, Charles who mods the group can provide you with some great tips and advice on steps you can take from here, and I have found them very useful. They are on Monday and Thursday.

      Hi Wong ,

You are not alone. I am not being an addict for that long to give you any advice and I have been game free just for a month but what my doctor and my therapist told me is that. There is no cure on what we have. It will be a daily battle for the rest of our lives. We need to remember how bad gambling put us in the position we are in now and fight like hell not to go back to play again. If we give in even just for a penny. That’s all it takes to make us relapse. Keep fighting!
