My name is Jerry S. I’m a compulsvie gambler. I placed my last bet 1776 days ago(March 6th, 2007). If you truly want to stop gambling, I urge you to go to 90 G.A. meetings in 90 days. I don’t want to hear you don’t have time. You always found time for gambling. Stop making excuses. Suck it up. Your family will understand that you will be out of the house for a couple of hours a day for the next 3 months. Better than being at the track, the card game, the casino, etc. The last 2 years I’ve probably only attended 3 meetings. But I call people from my home room fairly often. And, I always replay in my head things I heard at meetings. When you attend a meeting, you’ll be amazed at how little people talk about gambling. It’s great group therapy. And if you’re in a really good room, you’ll get zero sympathy, and tough love.
If you want it, it’s there for the taking. I wake up every morning, and tell myself, "I’m not gonna gamble today." It’s an old cliche, but it’s so true. You really have to live one day at a time.
I was mainly a sports bettor. I bet on everything from the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, to rugby, Nascar, Formula 1, golf, soccer, etc. A true action junkie. 24/7 either betting or studying the games I planned on betting on. If I can stop gambling, anyone on this Earth can stop. Anyone.
YOU CAN DO IT. YOU JUST HAVE TO WANT TO.
