They say if you want to get over your hurt and grief, it is through love
So, here’s to you, my addiction to gambling:
I love that you showed me that there is more to life
than this pain, self-loathing and strife
I love that you even took me down,
So now I can get back up without a frown
I love that you showed me the light above
I love that you showed me there is More to love,
I even love that you are always going to be with me
As you will help me, and show me, what is important to see
And although I love you, I will not let it be,
You will not have the ultimate control of me.
And so, although I love you, I will now set you free,
I am going to be the best I can be!
Great poem Sara.
Gambling is like an abuse lover .
It doesn’t want to let us go but it doesn’t want us to be happy either – it just wants to control us and our suffering isn’t important.
I have looked at gambling in that way myself, in the past. And although I seen it that way, and would have never have went back if it was an abusing lover, I went back to gambling. Crazy how our minds work, isn’t it?
