It all started on September 2007 when out of curiosity I invited my friend to go enter a nearby casino to see what’s inside. On our first trip to the casino, we tried to play the baccarat. As what gamblers say, “beginner’s luck”, sure the luck was on our side that time. We left the casino with our winnings, which equaled to almost half of my monthly income at that time. So, I was very happy at the moment. Then after a week, we decided to go back and that was the start of my financial disaster. From then on, it was so hard for me leaving the casino winning. Most of the time I left empty handed. This bad habit of mine continued until 2019, and it costed me large sums of debts, shame from the collection agents calling to my office, and somehow lost the trust of my family. I stopped going to the casinos starting January 2020, thanks party to the pandemic. Fast forward, came 2021 and I was introduced to an online gambling website which I saw online. I made an account through an agent, and my gambling journey continued. At first, I had a couple of losses, then I experienced some wins. And then one day around May 2021, I couldn’t believe I won more or less $10,000 through online bacccarat. A day after, I had shopping, I bought the latest Iphone model, that time, it was the Iphone 12 Pro Max. But the night after, I started losing my winnings until it came to a point that I pawned my Iphone and never retrieved it from the pawnshop. Until today, it’s Decemeber 2022 already, and I still continue to accumulate losses from online gambling. I wanted to stop, but part of me was still hoping to recover some of my losses little by little. But instead of recovering, it only made things worse. So I searched online on ways how to stop gambling until I bumped to this website and here I am now. This is my first journal here and I’m glad that I found it. I have read some people’s journal and I could one hundred percent relate to their stories. I’m hoping that people here will give some advice and encouragement on my recovery journey and keep the fire burning. I will also continue reading other people’s stories so I can learn from them. So, that was how my gambling journey started.
