Hi F&F Family,
Well some of you may know me from the CG’s forum. My name is Bettie, and I am a compulsive gambler. I am also the mother of a 28 year daughter.
I had a shocking discovery when I was packing my daughters apt for her move today. I found a stack of scratchies, about 6-8 inches deep, three, five, ten and twenty dollar tickets. There were thousands of dollars of loosing tickets there.
She has has a conciderable amount of un accountable money this last year. Her house is in forclosure and she hasn’t made a mortgage payment in over a year. I thought that she was using drugs, i know her bf is a druggie but it didn’t think that they could possibly be spending that much on drugs plus i never saw and drug stuff in her home. ( I have a key and care for her dogs on occasion).
I’ve been told already not to blame myself but I introduced the scratchies to her when she was very young. She was in the hospital due to an accident when she was 12. I bought her bingo tickets, they took a long time to play. When she turned 21 I took her to vegas and taught her how to play video poker and slots. This is my fault.
She told me her and the bf won $2500 on the casino boat 2 weeks ago and that they were back this last weekend to play "just $100", how many times did i say that, "just $100"! That was a knife to my heart when I heard that.
I don’t know how to approach her. If she’s not CG ( I am in denial now) she has all the makings. I am afraid any thing I will say will go into one ear and out the other. I will be a hipocrit with what ever i say or do.
I don’t know what to do from here. Any suggestion would be welcome.
