Hi! My name Tristin. I have a problem gambling. I am married with two children. My addiction is online blackjack from the money I win wagering on sports. Four years ago, I never watched sports. I played sports in school, but stopped before I graduated. My entire adult life (I am 32) I never gambled. I would go to casinos, but I would play for fun as a social event. When I got married, I got rid of all my online dating, and various other adult sites, but I needed a new hobby. Being new to Los Angles, I started wacthing the Clippers games, and then I became a full-on sports fan. I watch all sports except cricket. About three years ago I heard of sports wagering betting on the spread. I deposited $50.00 into an online account, and started learning. Three years later, I can bet 20 games a week, and go 15-5 usually. I only deposit the minimum 20 or 50 dollars, and I build it up to hundreds to lose it playing in the online casino. When I lose it hurts like I lost everything. I just want to DIE!
I watch intently as the dealer pulls 21 after 21 after 21. Thinking the next hand I will win, and I dont. I pay my bills and take care of my responsibilities, but losing makes me feel so bad. I feel horrible it is the worst feeling ever, and the only person to blame is yourself, but it is an addiction I just cant stop. I need help. Today, I admit I am a gambler, and when I lose I hate the way it feels, and it makes want to harm myself, but I have kids and a wife that depend on me, so I have to be strong. Please share your stories for me to read as well it will give me strength to go on. Thank you for reading my post please respond!!!!

Hi Tristin and welcome to the forum.

I am sure you will be reading a lot of things you can relate to on the other threads here. You will also be reading the success stories, what are they doing that you can apply to your own situation.

You realise it’s an addiction. It is a gambling addiction though, you will find it extremely hard to stop the Balck Jack etc if you also try to continue with the sports betting.

You can get a blocker for your PC, you can put financial barriers in place. Does your wife/family know about your gambling? Or that it is a problem? Who could help you with that accountability?

It’s also important to keep using support; if we could do it on our own then we wouldn’t have a problem i9n the first place.

Keep posting and let us know what positive steps you are taking.
