***** and welcome to Gambling Therapy
If you’ve never accessed help before this is a pretty big day for you and we want to say a big WELL DONE for plucking up the courage to come here. We know it can’t have been easy! We’re easy going here, all we ask of you is that you participate, use the service responsibly and share what you’ve learnt with others here. If you’ve accessed help before, in whatever form, but it either hasn’t helped or you felt you needed to add a little more to you support network, we’re really pleased to see you here. Either way, we’re really looking forward to getting to know you. J
If this is your first visit why not take your time and have a browse around the site? It can be helpful at first to read a little of what people have been talking about on our forums. That way you start getting to know people even before you’ve “met” them in a group and you can get a sense of how things work here. If you’re finding it hard to navigate around the site, you have questions or you’d simply like to talk to a member of the Gambling Therapy team, feel free to drop us a line via e-mail or access our one to one live advice helpline because we’re always happy to help.
I suppose the most important reassurance we can offer you at this stage is that you’re not alone, we’re here with you. As well as the caring and supportive Gambling Therapy Team, there are quite literally THOUSANDS of people here waiting to give you a helping hand on your journey towards recovery. So dive in and get started because you can do this.
One last thing, this is a FREE service but we are a charity and we rely on donations. So if you are able, please donate whatever you can afford by accessing our donate page.
Take care
The Gambling Therapy
janeyParticipantHi Adele
Gambling Therapy is a small charity with very limited funding therefore we simply do not have the staff available to deliver the kind of support you are referring to. In addition to this, the forums are predominantly peer led, they are a place for our online therapeutic community to support each other with minimal intervention from us as that is what our groups and helpline are for.
When Velvet chooses to support people in the F&F forum she does so in her own time and has often expressed a wish for the people using that forum to be more proactive in their support of each other which would allow her to take a step back.
The forums are YOUR space to share and support each other and you are free to engage in them as much or as little as you like, they will be what you make of them.
Kind Regards
Janey
janeyParticipantHi Guys
Due to the nature of the content I felt it necessary to remove W4nt’s post but rest assured he has been contacted by us to discuss a way forward.
Thanks
JaneyjaneyParticipantHi SJ
I’m so sorry your having such a rotten time right now but I have to say the fact you haven’t gambled under these difficult circumstances is a real testament to just how remarkable you are! I think an appropriate saying here would be:
On a good day, everything goes well, the sun is shining, we see friends and laugh and go to bed without having gambled…
On a GREAT day, everything goes wrong, it rains all day, we row with the kids, stub our toe on the door, have a migraine….and go to bed without gambling.
You won’t give up SJ because you haven’t given up yet!
Take care

janeyParticipantHi Pony express
If possible, please could you use the same thread for your updates rather than starting a new one each time? It just makes it easier for people to keep track on where you are on our forums in order to respond to you and support you.
Take care

janeyParticipantYou’re doing great SJ, keep up the good work and I will hopefully see you in a group soon where I can share in even more of your successes 🙂

Your thread was closed as you reside within Great Britain and the cut off date for GB members accessing the site has now passed. Thank you for your contributions to Gambling Therapy, we wish you well in your recovery and urge you to access GamCare for further support.
Kind Regards
JaneyjaneyParticipantHi Guys
I’d like to interject here and just add that Velvet is only one person and she is only human. She can not be all things to all people and this is YOUR community too so please support each other and do not rely on one person to do all the supporting for you.
Thanks for reading
JaneyjaneyParticipantHi Paul

You could also consider residential treatment which you can find out more about by following the below link:

As Gambling Therapy are unable to support people from Great Britain can I suggest that you now copy and paste your post into one of the Gamcare forums where you will receive responses from others in a similar situation to you from all over Great Britain.
