Does anyone here live in Pennsylvania, preferably in the area of the Sands Casino in Bethlehem? I have an idea which I want to try. I have found that avoiding gambling is easier when I’m not alone. So I wanted to see if maybe there was another problem gambler in my area who I could be friends with and enter into an agreement where neither one of us will let the other gamble. It’s worked for me in the past.

      Hi Again Zman,

You are not alone. If you start your own thread in the My Journal Forum then you can write about your progress and your gamble free days. Reading the other stories there you can follow other people gamble free time as well.

If you want to meet fellow problem gamblers in your area then you will do so at your local Gamblers Anonymous meetigns. I just checked and there are 55 meetings in Pensylvania. Get to your local one and you will make friends there.

Be careful of doing “I won’t if you won’t” deals though. What happens if the other person gambles? Start your thread in the My Journal Forum, get to meetings. You have a lot of support available to you and can help both yourself and others by using it.

Hopefully see you in a group here again soon as well.

I reluctantly did what people on here advised me to do: I placed myself on the gaming control boards self-exclusion list. So now, unless I want to risk arrest by the state police (which I don’t ), I can’t go back into the casinos.
