When I first stopped gambling I was afraid to place another bet.
These days though my recovery isn’t based on fear, it’s based on acceptance.
I accept Compulsive gamblers can not gamble "normally"
I accept that I am a Compulsive gambler
I accept that as such i can not gamble normally
I accept that this means I can not place that next bet
Now i have nothing to be afraid of
i’m new here but it’s comforting to know that it’s ok to admit that i am a compulsive gambler. first step, acceptance. next step…healing…Hope springs eternal.
Charles i like that post. Acceptance to me has been a long time coming. Six years it has taken me to find acceptance but i do believe i have found it today

Charles I am glad that I read this. I find that even though I accept that I am a compulsive gambler, I cannot gamble normally, I cannot place that next bet, but I do still have FEAR as special dates come round.
