It is with the saddest heart I write this post.
Our Bettie passed away, suddenly, after a medical episode at her home.
I think she would want her GT family to know, and I think she needs to be remembered with this final tribute thread. Please feel free to share your memories and thoughts, we have lost a very special friend.

Thank you so much for posting K, Its really appreciated

Bettie Joined GT back in February 2010, Her first thread was called “Woke up wishing I was dead today” and was active on the forums until 2018

Bettie fought hard to overcome her addiction and the consequences of her addiction, She always gave the best support with a laughter, compassion, honesty, constructive criticism & fair challenge

This news has hit and will hit many hard including myself who over the years had the privilege of having many one on one chats with Bettie, writing this is proving much harder than I thought it would be

Bettie really will be missed, My thoughts go out to Bettie’s Family especially her daughter and her grandson who Bettie absolutely adored

      Please keep talking guys

I read Betties thread from start to finish and wrote about it on my thread. Betty had more challenges in life than most people.
God bless her. Good journeying Bettie.
      With love xxx

My thoughts are with Bettie’s family and friends. She was a brave lady who battled a tough addiction, some set backs, many victories. That is the way I will remembered her.

Bettie’s thread title grabbed attention but her writing showed a determination to overcome her problems that never wavered.

She had more than her fair share of pain but she faced it with unswerving bravery. I am so pleased that I ‘met’ her even if it was only in cyber space.

      I will remember her

You were the first person that I met here (chat) You made me feel welcomed! Through the years, we remained friends on FB. Your Grandson and my Granddaughter are close in age. I enjoyed seeing his pics and I knew how much you loved him. I was in disbelief when I found out that you passed away! The last few days I’ve been reflecting about your death.  RIP! You are now your Grandson’s guardian angel.

Bettie joined GT not long after me. She was a wonderful support to me during some very tough times. I was fortunate enough to make contact on fb and we kept in touch over the last 10 years on and off the forum.
I know that she was very excited about her future, things were really looking up for her. Her daughter and grandson were the lights of her life and I’m so incredibly sad, not only for them, but for what she will miss. It’s not fair. I hope she knows that she touched so many people even in her darkest of days. I believe a person never really dies , not if we remember them, and I will remember her, for her kindness, for her wonderful spirit , for her fun, for her advice and wisdom. I’ll miss you B, and I hope you know you are one of my very special friends.
      K xxx
