Hey I found this website as I was looking for help with my gambling addiction… not sure where to start .. maybe from the beginning… I’m in my 30s married with kids… I always enjoyed gambling at the local casino .. never really won anything significant.. whenever I felt stressed I would go and just play .. once o started doing this I enjoyed the feeling I would get .. I started taking money from our joint account and my husband caught on and helped me sign out for life.. all was good for a while .. then I found online gambling and now I’m in this complete spiral .. I have been doing this for probably 2 years now.. I won big once and then spent it all again .. and I have loans and I’m so stressed out .. but still try and gamble .. loose all my money and I’m back to the same place I was when I started.. feeling guilty and sad and angry, I now own so much money, I’m actually terrified to speak fo my husband or where to begin, tomorrow I’m planning to make a therapy appointment because I can’t keep living like this and I’m scared for what the future holds especially within my marriage once my husband finds out.

Hi Polishprincess,
I just read your introduction, and I think I can say the majority on this site has been in your shoes, and some of us are still there.
It’s a daily struggle, but as you can see some of the people who post on this site has been gamble free for a while which shows that the goal is reachable/obtainable, We just have to take it one day at a time.
I am speaking to myself as well right now because I have fallen down once again.
I’m a wife, a mother and a grandmother and I can’t believe I’m still doing this after after 13 years.
One day at a time my friend, one day at a time. -

Hi justed wanted to congratulate you on taking your first steps to being gamble free. It’s not an easy road at all but it does get easier over time. The obsession does begin to lift and life becomes more easy to navigate. Having an addiction is an extremely distressing time but with support and understanding of why its occurring it can be removed. I hope that you keep posting and feel free to reach out anytime.
