…. is usually the best advice!
I can’t remember if I first read that here or heard it at a meeting.  Either way it’s true.  The advice we may not like hearing would include – not carrying money, making ourselves accountable, getting banned from where ever it is we gamble, being honest with partners, getting to GA meetings or using other support.
That’s the sort of advice that will scare the hell out of our addiction, the sort of advice that might actually help us to stop gambling.  The addiction will find LOTS of reasons why we don’t need to follow that advice – my recommendation would be to NOT do what your addiction wants. 
So if you hear any suggestions, regarding how to stop gambling, that you really don’t fancy doing then ask yourself WHY?  And then maybe do the thing that will REALLY annoy your addiction.
